Celebrating Craft Brewing in the Finger Lakes.
We’ve compiled a number of suggested itineraries to help plan your next trip along the Finger Lakes Beer Trail. Use them as they are or combine a few for a multi-day excursion!
This 2 day itinerary takes you to 16 breweries located around scenic Seneca Lake. It is set up to start and end in Watkins Glen, but you can customize to your needs and enter the loop at any point you wish.
Spend a day or two driving among the picturesque scenery of Seneca and Keuka Lakes with this 8 hour itinerary which takes you to 13 breweries along the way. It is designed to start and end in Watkins Glen, but you can enter the loop in Hammondsport, Geneva, or any other point of your choice.
This itinerary is the same as the one above, but adds in 3 more brewery stops in the Corning area. If you're looking for a multi-day trip, combine this itinerary with the Eastern Seneca Lake - Horseheads - Elmira itinerary below.
This intinerary can be done in either one or two days, depending on how much time you want to spend at each stop. You'll visit 14 breweries along the eastern side of Seneca Lake and down into Horseheads and Elmira.
Starting and ending in the Rochester area, this 2-day itinerary takes you to 16 breweries along the northwestern corner of the Finger Lakes Beer Trail. This itineary can also be started at other points along the loop, such as Canandaigua or Naples.
This 8 hour itinerary takes you to 12 breweries as you travel along New York’s Southern Tier Expressway (I-86). Meant to start at one end, in either Corning or Binghamton, this itinerary can easily be accomplished in one day.
This full day itinerary takes you to 10 breweries along the rolling hills of rural New York State. Designed to start in Ithaca, this itinerary can be easily modified to start in either Cortland or Binghamton instead.
Looking to spend a couple of craft-beer filled days in the Ithaca, Auburn, and Syracuse areas? Then this itinerary is for you! With stops at 17 breweries, you’ll be sure to end your trip happy. While the itinerary is set up to start and end in the Ithaca area, it can easily be started at any point along the route, such as Syracuse, Auburn, or Cortland.
This 8 hour itinerary takes you to 12 breweries along the I-81 Corridor spanning from Syracuse to Cortland to Binghamton.
This 10-12 hour itinerary takes you to 17 breweries along the northern tier of the Finger Lakes Beer Trail. Meant to start at one end, in either Rochester or Syracuse, this itinerary is best spread out over 2 days. Remember to bring money for tolls, as you'll be traveling along I-90 for most of your trip.
Keep in mind that most breweries with tasting rooms charge a small fee for tastings (usually $3-$5). Most brew pubs offer tasting flights for purchase, but some only serve pints.
Also, please remember to drive responsibly and use a designated driver. Or better yet, leave the driving to somebody else and take a limo, town car, or even a stretch Hummer! A sampling of area transportation companies can be found here.
